First off, we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off to get the new UPS’s before the power might go out next.
In the grand sceme of things, we don’t really care about how many listeners we have. We run ShoutDRIVE for fun. But part of the fun has to do with the ‘more the merrier’ theme, so we do tend to keep an eye on our listener statistics.
As your honest station manager, I wanted to share with you a cool graph that shows how our outages impacted our stream.
Notice the upward trend that was interrupted by the outage. Theory says that the upward theme would have kept rising at that point, as it showed no sign of slowing down.
Anyway, this is the challenging way of life in internet radio!
As my previous post says, we’re running on very sophisticated Uninterruptible Power Supplies now - All of the old ones have been replaced: Everything from our internet uplinks right down to the mixing consoles and servers are now protected.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Say hello to the BACK-UPS XS 900VA by APC. We’re using two of these to protect our gear now, so no worries. We have many hours of spare power now.
As my last post said might happen, has happened.
Our battery backup systems failed, even though we inspect and test them quarterly. ShoutDRIVE Headquarters are currently down.
If you are hearing ShoutDRIVE, it’s because I’m sitting here running an unofficial playlist from my personal laptop using my AT&T laptop card and am running the laptop from my car’s engine’s electricity.
PS: This is due to the local fires.
Will post back ASAP.
